Democritus

Democritus was born in Abdera, Greece and was a Greek philosopher who is credited with developing the atomic theory of the universe. He stated that everything in the universe, from the tiniest seed to the largest star was composed of very small invisible and indestructible particles. These particles, he said, are continually moving about in space and join together to form various substances. Today we know that Democritus was correct and that substances are composed of molecules, atoms, electrons, protons and neutrons.
Democritus also studies philosophy and thought that everyone should strive for complete happiness during life.
