Albert Einstein was one of the most well known scientists of the 20th century. He is best known for his theory of relativity and his hypothesis on the particle nature of light.
Although Einstein did not begin to speak until he was three years of age, he was able to do very difficult mathematical equations as a child.
In 1916, Einstein wrote about the theory of relativity. He was able to account for the variations in the orbital motion of the planets, and the bending of starlight by a large body such as our sun.
When World War II broke out in 1939, Einstein moved from Germany to the United States where he advised the president concerning atomic weapons.
Einstein died on April 18, 1955, and his work has become even more famous since his death.
